You  are  watching  a  selection  of  my latest works.    The material  I use to express myself is iron,  the technique is hot forging. I am not going to say  anything about my  art; I wish my works had  the  power  to communicate emotions, needless of  words  which are often resctrictive  and useless.   I  will   only  resctrict  myself  to  quote  here some  master's thoughts  that are  reflected  in  and have inspired my works.

"
Expression   will  never   come  out  from  uncultured hands. Only if you fully have the skills  and  know-how you may sometimes meet the dream."                                                                                                                                                     G.Manzù

"
It  is  easy  to  draw  curve  or  parallel  lines,  visual  or  imaginary  shapes.  It  is  difficult  to brand  them,  to give them expression."                                                                                                                                                          A.Magnelli

"
Let's try,   once  in  a  while,  to  introduce  ourselves stark naked,  without  sins  of  youth,  without  curricula. Let's try not  to  involve   people  with   other  but  our  works.   Who   watches   must  be  neither   dazed   nor struck,  but must only  get  in  touch  with  the  works."                                                                                                                                         M.Maccari

"THE  UNUSUAL  EXPRESSIVENESS OF  PAIN"
Pain as revolutionary part of a tame society.

Giuseppe Pongolini uses nails and pincers as essential elements of his sculpture. Also tools and means of pain and blood. He investigates the components of dreams and feelings, he moulds the less shown artistic themes, in so doing dissociating from the classic concept of beauty. His intention is finding parameters to define the recovered dialectic, belonging to either pain or aesthetics, either to pleasure moments or fleeting freedom. His technique of forging is very careful, occasionally, the colour equidistantly appears to develop the plasticity, stressing the look assumed by the sculpture in the occasion. He loves essentially expressionist themes, he moulds his ideas in a demoniacal way, especially in their formal aspect. He is interested in manipulating icon-elements to give them a more incisive power than actually possessed. He advances solemnly in the theme of wounds and pain as suppressed suffering and compressed anxiety. He forges the other reality in iron, meaning the account of a violent and latent life characterized by a contained power always in the point of exploding. All that heavily emphasizes the deep result of his opera spreading a sensation of suspension and painful loneliness. Whit no elegance but only with an occult feeling of anger and powerlessness towards:      "the powerful horses of destruction."
